In a dark underground parking garage a Porsche lover needs eyes like a hawk, always scouring dimly lit corners and behind cement pillars for a Porsche in hiding. And if you’re persistent and lucky like me you find a perfect 2013 Porsche Targa 4S just waiting to have her picture taken.
From the licence plate cover I can see the owner purchased this beauty from Downtown Porsche in Toronto but there isn’t a soul around to get more detail. I remove the camera from it’s case, adjust it for low light and dance around it snapping photos like a crazed addict.
I do my best to steady the camera however the shots aren’t perfect. I refuse to turn the flash on as it would be pointless and ugly and it begins to feel as if I am taking photos of a ghost.
I’m not alone and my cohort and partner Kristin patiently waits back in the car flipping through her Instagram, as I obsess over another Porsche sighting, snapping away at every curve, line and detail.
I would love to wait around and meet the owner, hear the Porsche 4S start up and drive off, but time is of the essence. And frankly I don’t want to be that creepy dude in the underground sanding beside someone’s car.
I pack the camera up and head back to the car, glad that I captured the ghost-like beauty of this white 2013 Porsche Targa 4S.
