I’m always asking people to share their Porsche story, one thing that I find consistent every time I ask is usually a slight pause before they answer, followed by a grin and a resounding sigh.
Of all the stories I’ve heard one in particular stands out, my friend Brad has had this dream since he was 16 years old. It completely nails that feeling of owning and driving a Porsche 911 and the freedom of an open road.
“I always pictured myself in a 911 Porsche speeding down Highway 1, alone. And as I’m driving I reach down and press play on the stereo, the drum machine starts with a little synthesizer. I roll down the window and I put on my sunglasses, before long Phil Collins chimes in with “I can hear it coming in the air all night.” Brad laughs, and claims he has had this dream for years and is still planning on one day living this dream.
He also mentioned how at one point he seriously contemplated buying a 1990s Porsche with books and articles he found and bought – I personally hope he finds an old Porsche for sale and takes the plunge because I would really like to see this dream happen.
